Testimonials

"My physican suggested I try marijuana to help with the effects of chemo and my weight loss. I went to a couple of fairly scary places before coming to Green Buddha, where the staff put me instantly at ease. I am very appreciative for the time they took explaining how I might use edibles and tinctures. They even gave me a demo with a marijuana vaporizer. Medical marijuana has been a huge help in dealing with my pain."

What strains do we have in?

What strains does the Green Buddha have in today? This is always a tough question to answer because we're an authentically supplied collective with over a thousand members, and a constantly rotating stock of over 500 strains to date! What's in when you call may not be what's in when you come in! We average more than 20 strains in at any point in the day, everything from full on indicas to full on sativas and every conceivable blend in between. For January 2012 we averaged more than 30 strains in stock every day, changing daily. If we don't have the particular strain you seek, we will probably have a good substitute!

While the strain one gets is important to understanding the medicinal effect one will achieve by using it, how a plant is grown is equally important. Green Buddha is proud to carry only the finest organic medicine, certified as mold and fungus free Patient-Ready Cannabis™.

Please vaporize your medicine!

There are three modes for taking medical marijuana.
1) One can eat medibles that go into the stomach as in the taking of a medicated cookie.
2) One can place specially processed medicine under the tongue - the sublingual method.
3) Or one can inhale marijuana medicine either through smoking or vaporizing. Green Buddha recommends that patients utilizing the inhaling method should vaporize all dried marijuana instead of smoking it.

Smoking is not a medical delivery route and the taking of burnt particulate material into our lungs is not the healthiest of modes for utilizing medical marijuana. Fortunately one can vaporize instead. A vaporizer is a device that is used to extract and deliver cannabinoids from marijuana plant material and deliver by inhalation. Vaporizing is healthier than smoking, and cannabinoid vapor has been shown to be a positive stimulant on the immune system and has also been shown to be statistically significant in reducing tumours. The vapor should contain no particulate matter or tar as no combusion occurs. It will also the most cost-effective mode of utilizing your medicine, making it last longer and saving you money. Vaporizing will also minimize the smell which can be useful in being discreet while medicating.

If you are looking for a good vaporizer we would be happy to recommend some. There are dozens of companies that sell them online and just about every local headshop now carries vaporizers. Locally we find that Capitol Hill Tobacco at 1658 East Olive Way in Seattle (206-322-3511) has a great selection of inexpensive vaporizers. You can also find great deals on Craigslist and Ebay, in used vaporizers. Vaporizers cannot be sold with sensible instructions, if valid instructions were included with vaporizers they would be considered marijuana drug paraphernalia and thus would be illegal to sell. So Green Buddha suspects that a lot of folks buy vaporizers and cannot figure out how to effeciently use them, and in frustration resell the items. When you buy your vaporizer and assistance with it, please let us know you want to bring it in the office for a one-on-one demonstration. Nothing beats getting a demonstration with your vaporizer for learning to dial it in just perfect. We at Green Buddha love to show you how to use your vaporizer.

Vaporizers have been found to be most effective when the cannabis is heated to a temperature between 180C to about 220C. Running the devices at a higher temperature can result in flash point burning. Most commercial vaporizers are slow in extraction, the vapor first inhaled will be aromatic but only minimally active. As the plant material rises in temperature the vapor becomes increasingly bio-active. Thus vaporizing a small amount of material with a slight shift up in temperature after the first pull might be considered the efficient use of the medicine. The Multidisplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies has done a number of scientific based vaporizer studies that might be of interest for further reading.
